Home to over 80,000 residents, Silver Spring, Maryland lies at the north apex of Washington DC, just over the border. With the addition of the outdoor shopping plaza, "Downtown Silver Spring" guests, tourists and locals alike can now browse various shops, check out Border's books, pick up something delicious for dinner at Whole Foods Market, stay in town for dinner at Locavino or Copper Canyon Grill, or just get a quick bite at Panera Bread. With so many options it's easy to lose an afternoon at Downtown Silver Spring.
Silver Spring, Maryland also has various festivals and local entertainment throughout the year. The Silver Spring Jazz Festival is not to be missed each September as well as annual ethnic festivals celebrating nations such as Jamaica, Vietnam, Italy and more.
