AU Park

If you want to live and work in Washington DC, you owe it to yourself to check out the Crestwood neighborhood.

Welcome to AU Park

If you are considering a home in the Washington D.C. area, you might just find what you are looking for in American University Park. This neighborhood is filled with single family homes and stands taller than other neighborhoods with an elevation of 429 feet.  The diverse architecture and close knit community make this area a great place to call home.

Located on the Maryland border, AU Park is located on the Northwest quadrant and is part of Ward 3.  It is bounded by Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Western Avenues.  The neighborhood dates back to the 1920’s and enjoys slightly wider roads as travel by car was already becoming popular in the area.

Friendship Park (Turtle Park) provides the identity and heart of AU Park, but it boasts of many more focal points including American University’s Washington College of Law, the Georgetown Day School, Bernard T. Janney Elementary School, and the chancery of the diplomatic mission of Japan.

Homes in American University Park were once popular with the diplomatic community and tend to be a bit more spacious than some neighborhoods.  Altogether, there are about 2700 homes in AU Park placed intimately into tight-knit blocks. You’ll find many more porches than driveways in this area.  Many young families migrated to the community 20 years ago, but real estate prices steadily climbed and the area now attracts a slightly more mature community.

If you’ve decided that Washington D.C. is the place you want to live but you would like to be part of a close knit community, American University Park might be just the right choice for you!
