The 16th Street Heights neighborhood in Washington D.C. is a unique place to live, work and play. The boundaries of the area are Military Road (north) Georgia Avenue (east) Rock Creek Park (west) and Arkansas Avenue (east). The neighborhood began around 1910 with the majority of homes built in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Here you will find a delightful mix of architecture ranging from apartment buildings and row houses to semi-detached Tudors and large stand-alone homes.
The community is quite diverse and well served by public transportation that takes riders downtown or Silver Spring. There are many options for both public and private education in the neighborhood which plays host to The Kingsbury School, which specializes in working with special needs students.
There’s plenty to do in this close knit neighborhood, whether you are into sports or music, this area has something for everyone. There are a number of open air concerts each year at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre. Summer days are filled with picnickers and children playing in park. Golf and tennis buffs won’t be disappointed as the area boasts great facilities for both.
The 16th Street Heights neighborhood offers residents reasonably priced membership in an area country club, access to the great DC night life and an amazing selection of music and art events.
